Random wrap tends to keep the cable tension more constant over the range of spooling since drum barrel diameters and outer spool diameters differ less than on monosp spools One-Way Payout When obstructions or environmental conditions prohibit the placement of the power source at the centre of machine trave，l one-way payout (end feed) must be used. If one-way payout is used. then Active Cable Length = Travel Length Two-Way Payout* In many applications， the power source can be brought to the centre of the 鬥lachine travel for two-way payout (centre feed). This perml the use of a smaller， less expensive reel and only one-half the length of cable. For example， a 15m reel accommodates a travel of 30什1. The torque motor is energised as long as the equipment is in motion. When the reel retrieves the ，the motor continues to run to provide tension on the cable and match the payout speed. When the torque motor is ，a mechanical holding brake prevents the reel unvvinding.
