HISTORY :

Rod mill at AA Corporation was commissioned in May 1977, with designed annual capacity of 300,000 tons. Material Stock is rolled through a two-strand straightway roughing and intermediate mill consisting of 15 horizontal stands, and finished after two individual offset finishing block. Each finishing block is composed at 10-Stand no-twist finishing mill and a Stelmor controlled cooling line. From the delivery end of the cooling line, the rod is coiled, bundled and transported to the shipping area by a power and free conveyor system.

The mill has the capability of producing various sizes of rod from a 118 mm square billet of 14.2m long. It is capable of delivering product at speeds ranging from 14.2m/s(13 mm rod) to 70 m/s (5.5 mm rod). We modernized the mill and speed up the maximum finishing speed from 50.8 m/s to 70 m/s in 1985, we modified the existing Stelmor fan to VVVF control in 1992, leading to the electricity saving annually.

Since 1996, we have begun to modernize the mill again and expect to speed up the maximum finishing speed from 70 m/s to 80 m/s. To achieve this object, Morgan corporation has introduced 4-stand Rod TEKISUN Reducing/Sizing mill(RSM) after the No-Twist mills with all other required upgrading equipment of latest technology. The benefit of the RSM is that rolling at 54 t/h with single family roll pass and with provide additional over 60,000 tons per year, and more

precise tolerance up to plus/minus 0.1 mm .                                                                                                          9
